file formats... nc?

Hi,
Im new to this! The control software I have seems to only open .nc files. Is this normal? How do I use the files on here?

GRBL. It came with the machine.

Nc files generally are the file exported from your cad program that specify the tool paths for the machine. Your program should include an import capability............. to import dxf files at least.

What Cad/cam program/s do you use? Grbl is a controller only.
