Hello sign torch artist,
Thankyou for the dxf art files they are great.
My plasmacam only has an old program because the new one is $3600.00.

It is very hard to convert bmp and jpg files to dxf.

If I send to you can you convert to dxf ready to cut.

I could not find any steam train dxf files on your sight perhaps I am looking in the wrong place.

Thanks
Darryl

image to vector conversion is messy no matter what software you try to do it with - I never even bother trying to convert typical ordinary images with software - it just doesn't work that good - I redraw everything in pure black and white by hand - then r2v software works better - but nothing comes out ready to cut without some human labor and ingenuity - and some things (like fonts) just have to be hand drafted in vectors

I don't usually do work for hire - on demand drawing is too stressful and aggravating for me

I do work for hire. I charge $10/hour and will give a price quote based off the picture, size, and any other particulars about your table. You can visit http://robinhillmachine.com or http://facebook.com/robinhillmachine

I have posted a lot of files here so you can see how I make DXFs. The ones I do for free on here are simple ones though. I won't do very complex portraits and things for free.

If you ever need a specific DXF and can't find it, you can contact me and I will let you know a price to have it converted.

Like SignTorch, I draw them all. Sometimes people send me images that trace easily and I don't charge for them as they only take a few minutes to convert. But most things have to be hand drawn one node at a time.

If you want to learn to make DXFs, you don't need to buy a $3k plasmacam program. I use Corel. If you don't like the price tag on Corel, Inkscape is a free program you can download. There are many videos on YouTube that will help you learn how to draw DXFs. 99% of images you want to convert won't nicely scan and be ready to cut. And the 1% that does scan nicely will still need work to clean up afterwards.

It's best to learn to make your own DXFs. But if you ever get an order and don't have the time or skill level to make the file, you can contact me.
